Mythology lesson #2

An interesting part of mythology is the incubus. In France the incubus is thought to be a vampire like demon that prays on the sexual energy of people. Often times they attack their victims at night raping them of their energies either through extensive love making or by tormenting them with vivid dreams of themselves. Many times these dreams were a prelude to the incubus appearing before it's victims. It was not uncommon once the incubus did present itself to be in a non threatening form. The incubus tended to have angelic like qualities which in medieval times was explained by the incubus actually being a fallen angel, cast out of Heaven because of it's insatiable sexual desire. This is why most of the time the creature appears to be beautiful beyond compare and can radiate a false innocent and sweet glow. It is said that the incubus has incredible powers. These powers range from fulfilling sexual desires by tapping into the darkest desires of their victims to knowing what their deepest fear is. It's because of these abilities to read someone so deeply that they are able to enslave a person by making them feel things that they have never experienced before. The incubus incites a feeling in their victim of sexual desire that only he can satiate. They are also said to be very clever and extremely mischievous. Trickery and deviousness have been said to be signs of an incubus due to their high intellect. However once the incubus's true nature is exposed it can become incredibly violent and malicious. According to old religious text there is no known way to make a incubus leave it's victims as it is said they laugh in the face of all things holy, often flaunting their ability to be unharmed by visiting religious domains and convents. Priests who try to perform exorcisms almost always fail. Sinistrari tried to save one virtuous matron and was met by a incubus so enraged he gathered hundreds of roofings stones and built a wall so high around her bed that the woman had to use a ladder to climb out.

Do I believe that the incubus is real? I sure do.
